Contra: World Challenge
  • Appearance- 3 levels including jungle, snowfield, and alien lair, basic graphics much like the original version, different levels on the screen
  • Plot- the Contra is trying to fight the aliens and avoid cannons/falling off of a cliff in order to keep the red falcon from destroying humanity
  • Archetypes- New Zealand during the A.D. time period, protagonists fighting for the common good
  • Dream- one character overcoming obstacles and fighting off the enemy, everyone experiences struggles but must keep persevering 
  • Personal and Cultural- idea of a quest, having a goal and doing what it takes to accomplish it, moving from left to right signifying the advancement of time

Achilles
  • Appearance- 30 levels, plain background with tan ground and mountains in the back, one Roman soldier fighting against enemy soldiers
  • Plot- the main soldier fights other soldiers trying to kill their army in order to make it to the next level
  • Archetypes- Roman era, soldiers fighting against one another with swords and spears, small army against a large one
  • Dream- fighting off enemies, different time period much like how in dreams you travel back or forward in time
  • Personal and Cultural- modern society's fascination with the Roman era, glorification of Julius Caesar

Run
  • Appearance- 50 levels, small grey alien runs along a runway to get from one tunnel to the next, the color of the tunnel changes as you move up in levels, holes in the runway make it hard for the alien to travel through
  • Plot- get the alien through each of the levels
  • Archetypes- aliens and sci-fi subjects
  • Dream- allusion that you are in space, out of world experience
  • Personal and Cultural- running toward our future, idea of extraterrestrials

A Walk in the Park
  • Appearance- cartoon park with dog, old man, trees, grass, and obstacles
  • Plot- use the arrow keys to move the dog in order to move the old man in a wheelchair, read the directions to figure out how to unlock or fly to the popsicle to get to the next level
  • Archetypes- American image of the park and ideal day, animals helping the needy and/or old people
  • Dream- being able to fly and jump up on ledges to reach new levels, day at the park with a dog and grandpa
  • Personal and Cultural- helping each other, altruism, the use of animals to help people, training dogs to assist the needy
